SAMPLE ESSAY
I  wrote this essay during my undergraduate degree at Lancaster University for a module on Literature and the Visual Arts. The feedback from my tutor was as follows:

“This is an exceptionally good piece of writing: bold, original and full of insight, the essay explores the phenomenon of Instapoetry with skill and finesse. You build on the debates we explored on the module very intelligently and I found your analysis of digital ekphrasis particularly illuminating. The references to Barthes and Sontag provide useful theoretical touchstones but you also engage with recent critical work in a way that makes this a highly pertinent intervention. Indeed, the essay is so compelling that it makes me think that the module would benefit from exploring Instapoetry alongside Rossetti, Auden and Atwood. So your work is challenging my thinking. In short, this is an outstanding essay.”

CSW 65 with UN Women UK
Between the 15th to the 26th March 2021, the 65th Commission on the Status of Women with the United Nations took place online for the first time. I attended the conference virtually as a delegate for UN Women UK, having applied in the previous month. It was a fantastic opportunity to hear from governments, NGOs, charities, and UN projects across the world and help move towards an equal world.

I learned so much from this conference, and I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to participate. I felt that it's essential to share the information from the summit back with my networks, which is why I wrote a conference report.

From how digital technology plays a role in making urban areas safer, the importance of education in achieving gender equality, and so much more, I hope you find it helpful in your own practices.
