About
My name is Ruth-Anne, and I’m a photographer and writer based in the North West of England. While my work has taken several different shapes, including journalism and nature photography, I come back to landscapes time and time again. From the Yorkshire Moors and Bowland Fells to the Lake District and recent travels to Ireland, I enjoy finding distinctive ways to capture the world.
It’s always lovely to see some friendly faces on social media, so please do come and say hello. If you have any questions, queries, feedback, or commissions, feel free to get in contact via the form below.
Why photography?
“To collect photographs is to collect the world.”
- Susan Sontag, On Photography
For me, photography is about finding unique angles and distinctive perspectives. While my work has taken several different forms, from journalism to creative photography, I come back to landscapes and nature time and time again.
Why Writing?
“I learned to write by writing.”
- Neil Gaiman
I’ve spent my life writing, reading, and learning how to write better than before, from my academic work as a graduate in Literary Studies to my journalism and marketing positions. Writing, for me, is about communicating knowledge and finding perspective.
